When your child is sick or hurt, you want to help them feel better fast, which is why you seek the help of experts who can answer all of your questions. Unlike most urgent care centers, which are set up to treat the general population, Chai Urgent Care has a pediatrician on-site that has the expertise you need when your little one is in pain from an injury, has an ear infection, or is suffering from an illness like hand, foot, and mouth disease. In addition, because we know how scary it can be for young children when they receive pediatric urgent care services, our staff is trained to provide extra care and patience with little ones.
Note: Call 9-1-1 for emergency services in life-threatening situations, such as major trauma, chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, and poisoning.
Pediatric Services In NJ & NY
From cuts, scrapes, and bumps to colds, flu, and fevers, Chai Urgent Care provides pediatric urgent care services to treat a wide range of childhood ailments. With a pediatrician on-site, we are also able to offer well-child visits, which means you can conveniently schedule your child’s primary care with us and bring your child to the same location for urgent care without having to take a trip to the emergency room.
Well-child visits are important for your child’s overall well-being, as they allow a pediatrician to check developmental milestones, provide vaccines that are due, and address any concerns you may have about your child’s behavior, sleep, or eating habits.
COLDS, FLUS & FEVERS
If your child has a fever, runny nose, body aches, and fatigue, they may have a cold or flu. However, fever in children can also be a sign of serious infection. If you’re worried about your child’s high fever, we will provide diagnostic testing to determine the cause and recommend a course of action for treating the symptoms of a fever, cold, or flu.
SORE THROATS & COUGHS
A sore throat and a cough can be signs of strep throat, pneumonia, and other ailments. We will examine your child’s throat and airways, perform lab tests, if they are warranted, and prescribe any needed medications.
NAUSEA & VOMITING
While nausea and vomiting can be symptoms of flu and other viruses, they can also be symptoms of other illnesses and conditions, including food allergies, food poisoning, motion sickness, and migraines. Our on-site pediatrician will examine your child and look for other clues to the cause of the nausea and vomiting to determine a cause and recommend appropriate remedies.
STOMACH ACHES & VIRUSES
Depending on the cause of your child’s stomachache, we will prescribe the appropriate medications, such as antibiotics or an antiviral.
For young children, ear infections can be very irritating, and for some, chronic ear infections can lead to delays in language development. Our pediatrician will not only treat your child’s ear infection but will also be able to see warning signs that your child may need to have ear tubes put in.
CUTS SCRAPES & BUMPS
As a pediatric urgent care center, we are open until midnight every day to treat cuts, scrapes, and bumps of all types.
Children that come down with rotavirus may experience severe diarrhea, vomiting, fever, or abdominal pain. The most dangerous symptom of rotavirus is dehydration. We can help you with your child’s symptoms and help you ensure your child isn’t suffering from a loss of too many bodily fluids.
Conjunctivitis, or pink eye, is a common childhood illness typically caused by bacteria or viruses, but it can also be caused by allergies and other irritants. We can diagnose the cause and prescribe antibiotics, if necessary.
PEDIATRIC ASTHMA & ALLERGIES
It can be very scary for both you and your child when they have trouble breathing. Luckily, asthma and allergies are treatable with a wide array of solutions. We can help you determine which one is best for your child.
HAND, FOOT & MOUTH DISEASE
Common among children aged 5 and under, hand, foot, and mouth disease is a viral illness with typical symptoms of fever, mouth sores, and skin rash. Depending on your child’s symptoms, we can help with pain relief treatment.
If your child has eczema, we can diagnose it, rule out other skin conditions, and prescribe remedies, such as topical corticosteroids and antihistamines.
Whether it’s from injury or breathing dry air, we can treat nosebleeds that you are unable to stop on your own.
We vaccinate against chickenpox, but in rare cases, when a child comes down with chickenpox, we can help you alleviate the irritation caused by the itchy, red rash associated with the viral illness.
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of respiratory illness in young children. Come to Chai Urgent Care if your child has a high fever, thick nasal discharge, a cough that gets worse or produces yellow, green, or gray mucus, or has signs of dehydration.
